Nel 1791 si chiamava Bautte, ma in seguito fu acquistata in toto da Constant Girard, che insieme alla moglie Marie Perregaux aveva una sua impesa orologiera, così la Girard-Perregaux può vantare origini dal XVIII secolo.
Born in 1791 with the name Bautte, afterward bought by Costant Girard, the collection Place Girardet for Girard-Perregaux 225° Anniversary, has 225 watches, each with its box; boxes and dials remember anniversary and one event (not only about watchmaking but also history, music, finance, sport, battles). Al prossimo SIHH ginevrino (16-20 gennaio 2017) parteciperà anche Girard-Perregaux, che oggi fa parte del Gruppo Kering, ma che è stata a suo tempo fra i fondatori del Salone.
